CED has developed extensive knowledge and expertise in the design, development, testing and production of impulse cartridges, pressure cartridges and gas generators. These devices are used to provide pressure energy for thrust, filling, etc. They are initiated either by electrical or mechanical means. In order to develop a cartridge that is capable of addressing system level solutions, CED engineers work closely with the customer during early stages of the development program to fully understand how the end item is functioned, specifically the mechanical/thrust portion of the item. CED analysts obtain a thorough understanding of dynamics and propellant combustion/thermo-fluids using the CED proprietary SIBAC software.
Impulse Cartridges are used in the following applications: Countermeasure ejection, Aircraft Stores ejection, Bomb Rack Ejection, Flare Ejection, and Ejection seat sequencing. |
