Scot Incorporated was founded in 1942 as a firm engaged in the design and manufacture of small precision electric motors used in the general aviation field. In 1976, Scot added propellant and explosive actuated devices to the firm's capabilities. Since then Scot has become a major supplier of pyrotechnic and pneumatic devices and systems for aircraft, missiles and space programs.
Scot Incorporated operates a 47,000 square foot site in Downers Grove, Illinois, which is located 25 miles west of Chicago. The facility supports a design and development staff, machine shop, production, loading, and test facilities. Scot has extensive expertise in the design and development of mechanical actuation systems and the analytical capabilities to support efficiency in designs.
Scot has grown to become a primary supplier of aircrew egress system components, stores attach/release devices, and military life support test equipment. With numerous stock listed items, Scot supports US and Foreign Military Sales with several OEM and qualified second source items. Scot's extensive expertise in linear actuation, pneumatic or pyrotechnic, have evolved into launch vehicle systems such as stage separation, booster motor (SRB) attach/thrusters, and fuel control valve systems.
Scot Incorporated designs, develops, tests and manufactures high reliability pyrotechnic, electro-mechanical and pneumatic systems and components at its Downers Grove, Illinois facility. Scot currently has over 90 employees and is registered to the AS9100 Quality Management System standard. Scot is certified by NadCap to AS7114 for Nondestructive Testing, and holds all appropriate FAA and EASA Repair Station certifications for the overhaul of our PMA rated commercial aircraft component.
